Dear farmers, in my previous post, I promised to share practical poultry farming knowledge. Agribusiness remains my way of adding value because productive farmers strengthen society through food production daily.

Poultry birds require proper housing systems for success. The two major systems are deep litter and battery cage systems. Today we focus on deep litter pen construction basics remember this.

The pen should face east-west direction to reduce direct sunlight. Breadth should range between 25-30ft, while length depends on available space. Two block layers prevent disturbance and keep birds calm.

Proper height improves ventilation while openings allow ammonia escape from the pen. Good airflow protects birds and supports healthier growth during rearing. Always prioritize comfort and safety in poultry housing.

Farmers must understand that quality housing is the foundation of profitable poultry farming. Careful construction decisions improve productivity and reduce losses over time. Apply these principles and achieve better results.
