Pregnant animals deserve careful attention because sickness during pregnancy can create difficult decisions for farmers and livestock owners everywhere especially when treatment becomes necessary to save the mother’s life first.
Just like humans, some medicines may affect unborn babies, but delaying care can risk the mother completely because the living animal remains valuable for future production and many more births.
The Yoruba saying about water spilling while the calabash survives explains this wisdom clearly because losing a foetus can be painful but preserving the mother offers hope for future offspring.
Farmers should consult professionals and provide proper treatment when pregnant animals become sick. Good management practices, hygiene, and prevention reduce diseases while keeping animals healthy, productive, and safe always too.
Therefore, protect your animals through responsible care and timely action. A healthy mother can bring more joy, growth, and profit to your farm in the coming years ahead for farmers.
