Desiring animals with excellent genetic makeup is good, but successful farming requires proper planning. Many farmers lose money by choosing breeds without considering environmental adaptability. Start wisely.
High-performing breeds can thrive in new environments through expertise, experience, patience, dedication, and attention to details. Genetics matter, but management determines success. Adaptability remains important always.
As a farmer, improving indigenous breeds through strategic breeding can create better results. West African Dwarf goats can be enhanced with quality Kalahari or Boer genetics. Improvement takes time.
New farmers should begin with animals already adapted to their environment. Build knowledge gradually through training, mentorship, and practical experience. Every successful farmer started somewhere. Growth requires patience.
Avoid rushing into expensive breeds because others have them. Start from basics, stay humble, ask questions, and learn continuously. Farming success comes from consistent efforts and dedication.
