TRUE POULTRY PROFITABILITY: KNOW WHAT YOUR FARM REALLY EARNS

August 20, 2026

Many poultry farmers celebrate high sales without knowing their true profit. Real profitability begins when every production expense is recorded, measured, and carefully evaluated. Accurate records reveal reality every time.

Include chicks, feed, vaccines, medications, labour, electricity, transport, litter, mortality, water, repairs, equipment depreciation, and other operating expenses when calculating your total production cost. Complete records expose hidden costs properly.

Add income from broilers, eggs, spent layers, manure, and other poultry products to determine total revenue. Subtract total costs from revenue to establish net profit accurately. Revenue alone means little.

Measure cost per bird, cost per kilogram, mortality rate, feed conversion, profitability percentage, and return on investment. These indicators show whether your poultry enterprise is financially efficient. Numbers guide decisions.

True poultry profitability comes from controlling costs, reducing avoidable losses, maintaining accurate records, and using financial information for decisions. High sales do not guarantee success. Financial management builds lasting profitability.
