I find it frustrating when farmers guilt-trip professionals for charging for expertise. Consultancy requires knowledge, experience, time, and responsibility. Professionals deserve fair value for their expertise and service and knowledge.
A farmer connected with me through a training platform, and I initially offered free consultations because I believed consistent support would demonstrate my expertise. Eventually, every problem became my responsibility.
I clearly explained that the next consultation would require payment. When he contacted me again, he resisted, then compared delayed service to patients dying in hospitals. That statement crossed boundaries.
This is not an NGO. Farmers invest heavily in animals, feed, housing, equipment, and medications, yet animal health deserves equal attention. Professional advice can prevent losses and protect investments effectively.
If you want profitability, be willing to pay for expertise. I provide free consulting only to family, friends, and close associates. My profession puts food on my table every day.
