Healthy animals require proper diagnosis before treatment. Packed cell volume, or PCV, helps estimate the proportion of blood occupied by cells and can reveal anaemia requiring further investigation. Check wisely.

When laboratory testing is unavailable, pale eyelids may suggest anaemia, but this sign alone cannot confirm iron deficiency. Parasites, blood loss, infections, nutrition, and other conditions require careful attention. Investigate.

Combining two antibiotics should never automatically mean adding iron. Antibiotic selection depends on diagnosis, organisms, resistance, interactions, dosage, and veterinary judgment. Unnecessary combinations can cause harm. Treat responsibly and carefully.

Iron should only be administered when deficiency or an appropriate indication has been established. It does not replace diagnosis, supportive care, or treatment of the underlying cause. Use iron carefully.
