In 2017, while beginning my journey in Animal Production, Dr. Charles introduced me to Fidan Hatchery in Jericho, Ibadan. That introduction became memorable and shaped my early agribusiness experience successfully.
At the hatchery, I met the Managing Director, Mr. Kamel, introduced myself, and explained my passion for agribusiness as a newly admitted Masters student at the University of Ibadan then.
He treated me warmly, offering day old chicks at wholesale prices and reminding me that his support was because I was a student. That kindness mattered greatly to me personally.
Fidan broilers impressed me with excellent feed conversion, activity, health, fluffy feathers, good sorting, strong male female ratio, and remarkably fast growth consistently across the batches I received there consistently.
Since then, I have preferred Fidan broilers and recommended them to farmers. However, always survey recent hatchery performance because parent stock health can affect subsequent batches significantly and unexpectedly too.
