AGRIBUSINESS OVER AGRICULTURE: CHOOSE CATTLE FOR FASTER TURNOVER

August 12, 2026

Agribusiness means thinking beyond production and focusing on turnover, timing, markets, and profitability. In cattle farming, choosing the right animals can determine how quickly investment returns. Smart choices accelerate profitability.

Many beginners choose calves because they cost less or offer quantity. However, calves require longer feeding and management before maturity, delaying income and increasing production expenses considerably. Time affects turnover.

Sexually mature cattle can shorten the waiting period. For fattening, a mature bull may reach market condition within about 72 to 90 days under proper feeding. Turnover improves cash flow.

For breeding, mature females can become pregnant sooner when healthy and exposed to a proven male. This creates earlier offspring, faster turnover, and utilization of invested capital. Plan for productivity.

Cattle production requires capital, land, knowledge, and planning, but strategic animal selection can improve returns. Let us embrace agribusiness by producing for markets, not merely maintaining livestock. Produce with purpose.
