A few weeks ago, I shared a video about castration of ruminant animals, but it was not detailed enough to explain the procedure. Knowledge matters.

Castration is an important management practice that can influence animal behavior, meat quality, breeding control, and overall farm management when properly planned and carefully performed.

However, farmers must understand the appropriate age, suitable method, necessary equipment, hygiene requirements, animal restraint, pain management, and possible complications before attempting this procedure safely.

Poor technique can cause unnecessary suffering, bleeding, infection, or other serious problems. Proper knowledge and professional guidance are therefore essential whenever castration is being considered.
