Just days ago, I received a call from a colleague about Oyo State Government’s vaccination exercise against anthrax among ruminant animals. Protecting livestock protects livelihoods.
I was informed that I would be among the beneficiaries alongside neighbouring farmers. I made calls to ensure farmers benefited from opportunity. Community collaboration matters.
On the second day, government representatives arrived at farm and carried out vaccination exercise. Their presence demonstrated the importance of supporting producers. Action brings impact.
After vaccination, I requested that the veterinary doctors evaluate our practices and identify areas requiring improvement. They offered advice, which I appreciated. Learning strengthens farming.
It is unfortunate that, despite eleven years as an entrepreneur, this is my first experience benefiting from government support. Nevertheless, I remain grateful for opportunity.
I commend Oyo State Government for this initiative and hope programmes reach more farmers nationwide. May this partnership continue strengthening livestock health and farmer prosperity.
Best regards,
