Online and physical animal husbandry classes are valuable, but training alone rarely prepares anyone to manage a profitable farm successfully. Practical experience remains essential today.

If you genuinely want success, visit a reputable farm, understudy experienced farmers for months, observe daily operations, and find a mentor for guidance. Learn continuously.

I also train people occasionally, mainly to introduce foundational knowledge. However, real competence develops through repeated practice, responsible supervision, and exposure to situations. Experience matters.

A recent employee joined my farm and has improved within one month. Yet initially, his communication, record-keeping, and handling skills required development. Progress matters.

We often expect agricultural knowledge freely, but quality training deserves investment. Paying for valuable knowledge encourages commitment, appreciation, discipline, and serious application of learned skills.

Successful animal production requires theory and practical training. Get your hands dirty, learn from experienced farmers, seek mentorship, and build competence before chasing independence. Prepare.
