MORTALITY DETERMINES PROFIT: LEARN BEFORE YOU EARN

August 08, 2026

Livestock profitability depends heavily on mortality. Every animal lost represents wasted feed, labour, capital, and future income, affecting overall farm performance today. Survival protects profit.

As a beginner who lost significant money in agribusiness, I learned that passion alone is insufficient. Proper training improves informed decisions and better outcomes. Learn before earning.

Every livestock enterprise faces diseases, management challenges, unexpected losses, and difficult moments. How farmers respond determines whether their businesses survive and remain profitable. Preparation builds resilience.

Training helps beginners understand housing, nutrition, vaccination, biosecurity, disease recognition, records, and daily management. Knowledge transforms uncertainty into stronger decisions. Knowledge reduces losses.

When mortality is reduced to the barest minimum, production becomes predictable, costs are controlled, and profitability improves. Healthy animals build healthier businesses. Protect animal health.

My message to aspiring livestock farmers is simple: learn before earning, prepare before expanding, and manage carefully. Knowledge and prevention create success. Prevention supports profitability.
