In my last two posts, I have sensitised us about antibiotic misuse. These drugs are valuable, but careless administration can create serious problems. Knowledge matters.

Antibiotics should never be combined, reduced, or changed without proper veterinary guidance. Different medicines have different strengths, indications, withdrawal periods, and administration requirements. Follow instructions.

During quarantine or disease prevention, farmers should seek professional advice before administering preventive treatments. The correct drug, dose, duration, and timing depend upon circumstances. Prevent wisely.

Immune-support products, including vitamins and minerals, should also be administered according to product instructions and professional recommendations. More medication does not always mean better protection.

Treatment duration should never be shortened or extended based on assumptions. Follow the prescribed course, observe withdrawal periods, and seek veterinary guidance whenever necessary. Complete responsibly.

Antibiotic misuse threatens animal health, farm profitability, and responsible livestock production. Advocacy against misuse continues. Do not become a victim of dangerous practices. Farm responsibly.
